“The people who know their God
shall be strong, and take action.”
Whether you have followed Jesus for many years, are just beginning to explore Christianity, or simply want to meet some good people and make new friends, you are welcome.
Band of Brothers is the men’s community at Northgate Church Chester – a place for men to build friendships, enjoy life together, encourage one another and grow in faith.
Our inspiration comes from Daniel 11:32:

We want Band of Brothers to be fun, full of life, full of laughter and full of love. It is a place where men can be themselves, build genuine friendships and find encouragement through the different seasons of life.
Jesus is at the centre of what we do, and the Bible provides the foundation for how we seek to live.
• Know God more deeply
• Be strong in our faith and character
• Take action and make a positive difference
• Pray for and encourage one another
• Celebrate each other’s successes
• Stand alongside one another through difficult times
• Build strong and lasting friendships
• Look after our physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing
• Create opportunities where friends, colleagues and neighbours can feel comfortable joining us
You don’t have to have everything worked out, and you don’t have to already be part of Northgate Church. Come as you are.

Our main Band of Brothers gathering takes place on the second Monday of each month at Northgate Church.
The evenings are relaxed and varied and normally include a mixture of worship, prayer, games, friendship, food and inspirational talks.
Friday mornings from 6:00am–7:00am, Northgate Church Main Hall
For the early risers amongst us, Man Prayer is our weekly opportunity for men to pray together.
It’s deliberately simple. You don’t need to be an expert at praying. You are very welcome simply to come and join us.
Sometimes we tackle serious subjects. Sometimes we simply enjoy being together. Either way, the aim is to help men build friendships, strengthen their faith and encourage one another in everyday life.

Band of Brothers doesn’t only meet
inside the church building.
Throughout the year we organise different social
activities and adventures.
These have included things such as:
Water sports • Fire-pit evenings • Social gatherings • Men’s events • Conferences •
Opportunities to join with other men’s groups
We want there to be plenty of opportunities to laugh together, try something different and build genuine friendships.

Each year a group of men from Northgate travels to The Gathering, a national Christian men’s weekend organised by Christian Vision for Men.
Around 2,000 men gather for a weekend of teaching, worship, activities, friendship and encouragement.
It has become one of the highlights of the Band of Brothers year.
Band of Brothers is connected with Christian Vision for Men (CVM) and shares its desire to help men discover and follow Jesus.
CVM encourages Christian men to live with courage, integrity, compassion and purpose.
Its values challenge us to make Jesus known through the way we live – in our relationships, families, workplaces and communities.
• Put Jesus first • Live with honesty and integrity • Care for our physical wellbeing
• Resist addictions and destructive habits • Protect and support those who are vulnerable
• Put the welfare of those closest to us before ourselves • Treat men and women with dignity and respect
• Use our strength to oppose injustice and abuse of power • Care for the world God has created
• Keep going when we fail, knowing that God does not give up on us

• Looking for other men to journey through life with
Life can be challenging.
Work, relationships, family responsibilities, health, finances and the pressures of modern life can all take their toll.
That’s why Band of Brothers encourages men to think about wellbeing in three important areas:
Looking after our bodies and encouraging healthy habits.
Physical
Emotional
Spiritual
Building friendships where men can talk, encourage one another and support each other through difficult seasons.
Discovering what it means to know God and follow Jesus in everyday life.
Nobody has everything sorted. We grow together.
You do not need to be a Christian to come to one of our social events or gatherings.
One of our hopes is that Band of Brothers becomes a place where friends, neighbours and work colleagues who would not normally attend church can feel completely at home.
